WENGER 3/1 IN SACK RACE
The heat intensified on Arsene Wenger after his Arsenal side were sensationally hammered 8-2 by Manchester United on Sunday.
The defeat at Old Trafford means Arsenal have taken just one point from their opening three Premier League games and has left their title odds out at 40/1 (Victor Chandler, Stan James).
Wenger was immediately cut - again - in the Premier League 'sack race' market.
Sky Bet initially cut his price from 12/1 to 6/1 but were soon forced to act again, going into 3/1.
William Hill will give you 9/2 in a market which is still headed by Blackburn boss Steve Kean, who is odds-on across the board after three straight defeats for Rovers so far.
Hill's quickly cut Wenger's price not to see the season out at the Emirates, moving their quote from 5/2 to 6/4. bet365 went further - into 6/5.
He is now 8/13 to survive the campaign with the latter firm, while Arsenal are out to 15/8 to finish in the top four with Blue Square. Liverpool are into 8/13.
United's amazing win saw them cut to a best of 13/10 in the title race (Boylesports).
It also overshadowed a highly-impressive display from their main rivals Manchester City earlier in the day.
They won 5-1 at Tottenham, a victory which also saw their odds slashed.
Roberto Mancini's men are now 9/4 with Sky Bet and Stan James in what is beginning to look something of a two-horse race - bet365 go just 11/10 that the Manchester clubs finish as the top two.
Chelsea, 3-1 winners over Norwich yesterday, were the day's major drifters, pushed out to 5/1 in the market by Chandler, while Liverpool can be backed at 14/1 (Betfred). They beat Bolton 3-1 on Saturday.
The Golden Boot market was also shaken up by Sunday's goal barrage.
Edin Dzeko and Wayne Rooney are now the joint favourites at 4/1 with several firms.
Dzeko bagged four for City to take his tally to six, while a hat-trick for Rooney moved him onto five for the campaign.
Ante-post favourite Javier Hernandez is out to 14/1 with bet365. He has yet to get off the mark.
bet365 have Rooney at 8/13 to outscore Dzeko (6/5) in a match bet.
In another goals special, Hill's offer 5/2 that United bang in 100 league goals this season. City are 10/3 to do so.
